Having impressed record buyers with a typically open-minded approach to post-dubstep bass music since 2008, it's probably about time Hemlock slipped out a compilation. At the controls is label co-owner Untold, who digs deep in the label archives to present a subtle mix of skittering electronic goodness. There's much to admire, from the early work of now ubiquitous James Blake (see the synth-funk on crack of "Air & Lack Thereof") and tribal rhythms of Untold's own "Discipline", to the crystalline melodies and stuttering beats of Ramadanman and Guy Andrews intense techno workout "Resitivity". Best of all, though, is Randomer's "This Train", a hypnotic, near-tribal take on classic railroad blues.
