Freshly minted German label Ecke has not said much about their debut release, a compilation style affair featuring "off-kilter beats by artists from Europe and beyond". It is, though, a quietly impressive affair. Twelon kicks things off with the psychedelic intensity of buzzing opener "Quad", where warped, looped electronics and foreboding motifs buzz around a sparse but heavy beat, before Nollern peppers a popping, ever-changing post-electro drum track with a whisper of moody electronics. Over on the flipside, TLK's "In Your Shadow" fixes blissful, glassy-eyed synthesizer melodies to a bustling but laidback breakbeat, while Xantrax's "XTK" underpins vintage ambient house sounds and samples with a skewed electro rhythm.
