Relative newcomer Trudge makes his 2017 statement clear with a warm, grainy, immersive four-piece on Dance Around 88. Lo-fi in all the right places, "Hooked On You" hits a deep latent funk in the broadsword bass and drums that relentlessly drive the message home while "Restless" is a brilliant fuzzy synth jam that's not dissimilar to early Border Community. Elsewhere we're spiralled into hopeful, almost-churchy chord surges on "Nostalgia Aeternam" and "Lonely Daze" hits every spot possible with its bold, heavily reverbed piano strikes and soft organs. Play these and you won't be lonely for long...
