Chi Wax's 'Classic' series continues to delve into the Dance Mania-era archives of Chicagoan acid house legend Robert Armani. The label's latest reissue offers a chance to cop all six tracks from the producer's seriously heavy 1994 EP Collection Volume 1, where sweaty house jackers come accompanied by TB-303 driven techno thumpers. Highlights are plentiful from start to finish, with our picks including the blistering techno sweatiness of 'Remote Control', the bouncy hedonism of 'Muzik Man', the loopy, organ-sporting breathlessness of 'Watch It' and the digital handclap-heavy stomp of 'Warning', which also boasts another addictive melodic motif. If dense drums are your thing, we'd also recommend checking out EP highlight 'Frequency'.
