Back in July, a mystery 12" arrived from Germany and raised more than a few eyebrows. Credited to the previously unknown "Todh Teri" (we chuckled, at least) and featuring a blend of jacking house, disco and samples from Indian records, it was one of the summer's more arresting releases. Happily, this return to action from the mystery producer is similarly impressive. He (or she) indulges his (or her) love of sensual Indian disco via the gently beefed-up throb of closer "Sampadan 6", while "Sampadan 5" brilliantly wraps Bollywood strings and harmonica solos around a thrusting Italo-disco groove. Best of all, though, is sleazy and righteous A-side "Sampadan 4", a TB-303-fuelled slammer full of ragged acid lines, restless drum machine handclaps and hazy Indian vocal samples.
