Colourgrade CD

Back in 2018, Tirzah Mastin received almost universal acclaim for her long-promised debut album, Devotion, a Mica Levi-produced set of leftfield, R&B influenced "imperfect pop". Much has happened in Mastin's life since, not least her ascension to motherhood, and it's this life-changing experience that shaped Colourgrade, her much anticipated sophomore set. Recorded after the birth of her first child, and before the arrival of her second, the album is simultaneously musically blissful and bluntly abstract (Levi was once again involved, alongside Coby Sey, while Dean Blunt also added his distinctive touch to a couple of cuts). Mastin's vocals are as intimate as ever, though this time her lyrical inspirations are more universal, with new beginnings and the bond between mother-and-child a constant thread.
