A true BPitch stalwart, throughout Thomas Muller's four year release history he's only ever strayed from the label run by Ellen Allien once. Consistently serving up his signature sound of intricately programmed beats with mechanical structure, his latest EP, Neurones, is typically idiosyncratic. "One Hit One Night" quickly develops into a floor destroyer after a relatively washy beginning, whilst "Paris Asylum" wriggles along to its 4/4 beat pattern contently from beginning to end. On the flip, "Sub Summer" marks itself as Juno's favourite with an unpredictable and off-kilter vibe thrown around amongst shimmering washes, cutting key stabs and rat-a-tat percussion. Lastly, "Rude Way For Sweet Heart" is the dubbiest moment on the EP as its dark guitar plucks and an elasticized groove pings around eerie spaces and bizarre sample recordings.
