Believe it or not, the two tracks featured on this seven-inch single were considered lost until two years ago, Herman 'Butch' Slaughter - founder member of Indianapolis band Words of Wisdom and now a respected DJ - rediscovered them on dusty reel-to-real tapes. They've been cleaned up a lot for release, though as you'd expect they're still a bit on the crackly and fuzzy side. Even so, they're well worth picking up. A-side 'You Got Me Smiing' is a cheery chunk of boogie-era disco-soul marked out by clipped guitar riffs, a warming groove, twinkling piano flourishes and a gorgeous lead vocal. Flipside 'Just Another Face' is a smoother and dreamier slab of early '80s soul featuring both male and female lead vocals. Like the A-side, it's rather good.
