Of all his projects, The Persuader is Jesper Dahlback's most interesting. Apart from being highly collectable, his late 90s records under this name are among some of the best deep house releases from that time. Happily, the Swedish producer has decided to revive the project and this collection shines a light on what he does best. "Inre Stenen" is a dubby, spaced out groove, similar in sound to Marshall Jefferson's "Mushrooms", while "Kampen" sees him copper-fasten grimy acid to a series of razor sharp percussive bursts. Skargard also features a series of ambient interludes, but it's clear that Dahlback is most comfortable when he's dropping warm, chord-heavy grooves, as he does most impressively here on "Dymlingharan".
