The Sessions VI CD

Has any band released more albums than Tangerine Dream? If so, we can't think of any. Of course, the current line-up bears little resemblance to that which created such pioneering electronic music in the 1970s and '80s, but they certainly no how to deliver atmospheric, slowly-shifting sets full of undulating synthesizer melodies and far-sighted sounds. Sessions VI was recorded live in one-take back in 2018, as part of a series of "real-time composition" concerts and is effectively a 50-minute track split into multiple movements. That means melodic elements that subtly twist and turn, evolving in real time, while counter melodies and swelling chord sequences rise and fall around them. It's hugely enjoyable all told and should entertain confirmed fans and newcomers alike.
