The world music collective strikes once again, the downtempo and electro-ambient group has been active since 1979 by Michael Wadada and has seen over 200 different members in its time all throughout the world that he met on his travels. After Wadada's unfortunate passing in 2021, 'Revelation XVII' sees a compilation of some of the greatest tracks in Wadada's 40-year career. From the layered, deep percussion of 'Acid Tabla' to the mellow dub of 'Pablo's Lament (Youth Dub Mix)' there is a wide array of sound to explore in all its texture and complexity. Expect a relaxed time nonetheless, and this record is a beautiful celebration of Michael Wadada's great work. His presence will be sorely missed at festivals.
