Japan's Taro Nakano is an expert breakout, techno, garage and house talent who is based in Kyoto. His debut EP only came in 2017, but already he has turned plenty of heads. The manager of NC4K, a house collective in Kyoto, now lands on Body Action Music, with beats that fit the label's name perfectly. 'Word Rush' is a sleazy throwback with vocal yelps and big stabs, then 'Muddy Fish' layers up tribal and funky drum patterns with tripped out melodies. The flip kicks off with a face melting jungle workout and 'Rabbit' then showcases yet more of Nakano's exceptionally powerful drum programming with off-grid kicks and serious bass weight. These are bulky, muscular beats that are simply irresistible.
