|1.||"Ambient Out" (4:12)|
UVB-76 Music has been absolutely tearing the techno game to shreds recently, dropping bomb after bomb and launching plenty of new talent onto the scene. One such artist is Stave - already present to us thanks to releases for Repitch Recordings and Standards & Practices, among other imprints - who drops four twisted, off-the-wall bangers shaped by a broken-beat aesthetic. In fact, both "ATK" and "Silva" are made from the same vision - large swells of misshaped drums travel deep into a treacherous world of sonic dystopia only hinting at something vaguely bass-prone. On the B-side, "Ambient Out" uses its drums as placeholders amid the vacuous drone doom that encircles the track, while "Undead" staggers its sway to a chilling pool of sounds that bring to mind the term 'warfare'. Unmissable, if you claim to be anything near a techno fan.
