Thriller vinyl

Here is Love Monk's new 7" offspring label Marula Soul Food. These limited 7"s will feature original artwork (The lady here is courtesy of David Navascues) and a recipe, the nipper is a hungry one! This first release is a double header from Speak Low: a cover of the king of pop's "Thriller", and the original composition "Unusual Tatami" - a pair of funky numbers to get us started. Speak Low are Madrileños Julian Maeso (Hammond), Antonio Pax (bateria), Jose Funko (guitar), David Garcia (percussion) and Martin Garcia (tenor sax) - they've been signed to Acid Jazz and Funk-O-Rama, and they certainly know their way around a funky 7". The cover of "Thriller" is a Hammond-driven jazz-funk rocket for the dancefloor, while "Unusual Tatami" is a more laidback affair, with a War-like, rocksteady back beat, and Martin Garcia noodling the product of those late night sax sessions over the top.
