Those who were buying records in the early 2000s should remember Sniper Mode, the occasional electro alias of experienced German techno producer Gregor Treshor. If you're in this category, then you're likely to be rather excited by Shadow Orbit, Treshor's first Sniper Mode EP for 17 years. There's tons of fine material on show, from the sparkling melodies, moody pass and rolling beats of opener 'Shadow Orbiter', and the reflective brilliance of ear-pleasing deep electro number 'Pilot of Change', to the bustling, bleeping excitement of closing cut 'Kill The Lights'. Arguably best of all though is 'Leaving The Echo Chamber', a mid-tempo electro number marked out by ghostly synth-strings, poignant chords and cyborg synth sounds.
