Sleeper returns to his own Crucial imprint with his most substantial EP this year: "Militant Focus". As you'd expect from the bossman, it's a broad smorgasbord. "Shudda" sets the agenda in the classic trippy head-bending style we've come to expect from the man while the title track lives up to its name with its gruff battering ram bass scuffs. Flip for a quick Sunday afternoon drive in the warp vortex on "Franklyn" before Sleepy packs us off to bed with a nice cup of "Fish Tea" where the bassline jumps like a salmon moving upstream and the swing slithers like a hoodwinker sunfish. Focus on what's important.
