Adam Beyer's Drumcode certainly have an identity; their records are meant for big systems, head heavy beats and rumbling basslines (think Room 2 in fabric and you'll see where we're going with this). Their latest output from Slam, entitled "Crowded Room", is no exception. It's rapid and stomping from its offset, with techno staples creeping from dark corners, coming to play and then scuttling away again. Flipping over to the B-Side and Slam offer up "Night Train"; an old sampled train sound was their inspiration, and they use it to tell their story and capture our attention. On the right system, in the right place and with the right crowd, this is techno at its peak.
