Now firmly established as one of London's most loved deep house nights, Tief expand their remit with the launch of a self styled record label. Pleasantly, the label have chosen to eschew the easy route of tapping established names for some hard drive left-overs and instead have taken a calculated risk on some new production talent in Sisterhood. It's a risk that pays off as the pair of Tief regulars known as Harry Benson and Malcolm Moore, Sisterhood brandish a glistening approach to House music that just outshines their finely waxed side partings. Both the title track "Call Me Ishmael" and "Tannhauser" are a match for anything that Live At Robert Johnson have released in recent times, with the latter quite reminiscent of a Lauer production. Tief haven't gone for the obvious in choosing their remixers either and both Arttu and Juju & Jordash do a fine job in ensuring elements of the originals remain whilst also stamping their sonic personalities on proceedings. A fine debut from the Tief operation that sets a high standard.
