Review

When preparing for their 2019 live tour of the United States, Stewart Lawler and Tom Ellard recorded new versions of many of their classic cuts, which they later sold to gig-goers on a "souvenir CD". Two years on, that set is finally being made available to a wider audience. Given the experimental nature of the project, what's on offer is a bit more polished than the original material, but it still shares the same sharp, clattering, heavily electronic DNA that made the Australian outfit so essential during their '80s and '90s pomp. Highlights include terrific versions of 'Tiny Wounded Bird', the re-titled 'We Have Come To Bless This Klaus' (a sparkling take on one of their most dancefloor-friendly tunes) and the iconic 'Dead Eyes Open'.
