Review

Following un-credited releases from Aussie veterans Ewan Jansen and Justin Zerbst, Alex Picone takes a second turn at wearing the shared Seekers pseudonym. On an expansive release, the Italian variously tries his hand at Sheffield bleep/Detroit techno revivalism ("Sounds of a Winter Night", "The Happiness of Being Sad"), spacey deep house ("Slowly Sinking"), and straight-up Motor City positivity ("Pursuit of Pleasure"). The accompanying 7" single boasts the whistling melodies, becalmed chords and clicking drum machine percussion of "Love Intensified By Absence", and the slightly rougher and looser - but no less intergalactic - "Everything Seems Simple Until You Think About It".
