Initially released digitally last month, fledgling Brooklyn label concern Youngbloods make their bow in the physical realm with this charming exercise in sonics from Sasquatch. Hailing from Burlington, Sasquatch has apparently been honing his productions in isolation for several years, developing from an early interest in hip hop beats to more frenetic rhythms and this is a fine debut for both artist and label. The No Sweat EP features three original Sasquatch productions augmented by four remixes and whilst the more demanding moments of a set will be perfectly serviced by the latter you shouldn't overlook how refined these originals are. "25th" features a grasp of piano tinkling melody you'd expect from Falty DL whilst "Hang On" is where Sasquatch shows off his talent for intricate rhythms. Of the remixes, Distal's is perhaps the best, not least because it appears to sample that goddamn slap bass from the Seinfeld intro.
