This is a superb piece of soul music that crossed over at the time of release back in 1971 and surely has the potential to do the same again off the back of this timely reissue. Ronny Douglas and Bobby (Robert Joseph) Lonero first got together in that year and only put out three singles, but they did manage to put out a live album of mostly covers in 1973 called Live At Charlie Brown's. Douglas also put put some solo work in the 60sand 70s but none as good as this. 'Mary's Party' is a deep cut soul number with big horns and sweet vocals, then 'Baby, Take My Hand' rolls more deep, intimate and last night.
