American great Rick Wade is a real tune making machine. He has a well formed sound by not and only ever seems to tweak the elements but manages to cook up the goods each and every time. One of his finest outings was the Late Night Basix Vol 2 EP which now gets a welcome reissue to annoy the Discogs sharks. Each of the four cuts established a smooth and seductive groove before overlaying them with funky riffs in the case of 'I Feel Good' and jazzy chords on 'Detroit Hustle.' There is similarly deep tackle on the flip with two more superb cuts rolling into the wee small hours.
