Reece Cox's latest single, 'Emotion 1', is accurately titled. In its original form, the track is seriously stirring and smile inducing, with Cox eschewing beats entirely in favour of wave upon wave of sparkling synthesizer sounds and sun-bright electronics. It's a genuinely lovely track and the accompanying remixes are rather good too. We're particularly enjoying the deep, fizzing electro take from Parris and Call Super's hard-to-pigeonhole revision, which flits between attractive ambient sections and the kind of hypnotic, late night techno he's always done so well. Arguably best of all though is Upsammy's picturesque take, which cannily combines soft tropical synth sounds and synthesized marimba motifs with two-step garage-influenced broken techno rhythms.
