Review

Though Red Rack'em will be known to most for his earlier output, which covered the spectrum of classic disco and house, the man otherwise known as Daniel Berman finds himself on Ramp of all places, with what can only be described as his most interesting record to date. Taking the palette that his served him so well over the years, and making it leaner, more percussive and drawing inspiration from contemporary bass tropes, with "Chirpsin" drawing on classic 2-step and filling its corners with heavy dollops of dub techno. "All Alone" meanwhile takes that echo chamber techno and adds some cautious flourishes of pitch bent chords which flip the track inside out. One of 2012's most interesting reinventions.
