Although Dominic Fenrow has released work under many aliases over the years (Vatican Shadow and Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement being amongst the most celebrated), it was as Prurient with which he made his name. To celebrate two decades of the lauded "doom electronics" project, Fenrow has delivered the most expansive Prurient album yet: a quadruple-disc, three hour-plus exploration of macabre drone textures, intense industrial soundscapes, foreboding electronica and post-apocalyptic ambience. It's a bleak but nevertheless stunning piece of work, with Fenrow being joined in the studio by Jim Mroz (Lussuria) and Matt Folden (Dual Action), with post-production contributions from Shifted and Paul Corley. In summary: thrillingly dystopian.
