New York City isn't particularly well known as a hotbed of techno, but it does at least boast one well-regarded imprint: DJ Spider's Plan B Recordings. The label has long provided open-minded techno heads with no-nonsense, floor-friendly fodder, and here offers a second round-up of 2012 highlights. There's plenty to enjoy, from the Detroit fluidity of Phil Moffa's "Edge of Inifinity" and white noise-boasting drone oddness of "Oscillation 9" by Mindscraper, to the robust acid funk of DJ Spider's "Chemical Skies", and the wonky, titanium-clad hypnotism of Hakim Murphy's "ES2".
