Thus far, France's Pierre Codarin has only appeared on his own, self-named imprint so it's a pleasure to see him pop up on something as quirky as the Adult Only label. "Telefunk" rolls of the groove like metal on silk; the beat structure is sleek and penetrative, while the sounds give the impression of Codarin as an artist who like the deeper end of the house spectrum. "Morning Eyes" bangs its heavier drums over a subtle spray of electro bass and, on the flip, "Dan Ghenacia and Chris Carrier, two absolute dons of the French house scene, require "Telefunk" into a livelier, glitchier sort of tech bomb. "Evening Juice" caps the evening's antics off with a rolling, tightly packed groove that remains on the house shores while hinting at something more techno-flavoured. Nice and effective.
