Given Al Bleek's current vein of form - be it via his Boddika alias or the next level Instra:mental output - he was a smart choice to add some contemporary flavour to the latest comeback from Photek. Tasked with reimagining the rumbling subterranean flex of "101", Bleek excels under his Boddika alias, stripping the track of its wanton impulses to indulge in cinematic string flourishes. From these remnants Boddika retains the dramatic vocal refrain, wrapping it in a heavily dubbed-out electro riddim that snaps with percussive detail you'd expect from Mr B. Flip over for the kaleidoscopic live breaks of "This City" which is filled with dizzying vocal effects but still overshadowed by the proceedings on the A Side.
