Prior to this multi-artist EP, Detroit Vinyl Room has released just two singles in as many years. Their decision to focus on quality rather than quantity seems to have paid off though, as the Genesis EP is every bit as alluring as its predecessors. Percival kicks things off, wrapping intergalactic dub techno synths and fluttering synth lines around a smooth deep house groove, before Nick Speed ups the tempo a little via the breezy and warming "City Skyline". Arguably best of all, though, is Motor City veteran Norm Talley's flipside cut, "Believe It", a dreamy, soulful and rolling affair that recalls some of the deeper work of Alex Omar Smith.
