Back when Paul McCartney fist left The Beatles he has said he was rather lost and in a depressive state. He decided to set up and record a lo-fi album at home where he played all the instruments. That was McCartney I. McCartney II followed with a similar set up and earlier this year once the coronavirus pandemic hit he decided to repeat the trick a third time. He plays all the guitars and drums himself, with just one mic set up in the room. If he didn't like what he heard, he moved the mic and played bits again. The results is a varied album that covers plenty of ground with all the skilful songwriting you would expect.
