|2.||"Mmuo Trance" (5:33)|
Patricia Kokett's strange and exciting brand of techno is undoubtedly the sort of music that grabs your attention from the moment the needle hits the record. The previously unknown producer drop his second solo EP to date, coming through on the sublime Knekelhuis label, home to the likes of Smersh, Parrish Smith, and plenty of others who blur the lines between techno, electronica and power electronics. "Diabel" is ominous in its stride, launching an all-bleep wave of dread, while "Mmuo" is a slower, more gentle number that sways us with a pseudo-house approach. On the flip, "Serpiente" dabs into the more industrial techno framework, and "Mmuo Trance" releases a wonderfully deep and explorative piece of sound design that reminds us of Jon Hassell's outings. Excellent.
