Rotterdam label ANUS Records appear to be focusing on a sound that makes them every bit as distinctive as their tongue in cheek name and excellent sleeve work. The label's fourth release finds co-founder Petra Lundawerk return with a second Panda Lessow offering, having inaugurated ANUS last year with the Venice Raspberry EP. Much like that three track 10", the Least Weasel EP betrays certain links with Lundawerk's immersion in experimental electronic scene of Dresden where she once studied. Rolling polyrhythms, micro drum edits and heaving sub bass characterise "Hello Cherry Blossom" whilst the queasy "Dream On" sounds like Population One doing footwork. The frenetic flex continues apace on the flip with "Underwater Love" perhaps the best production here.
