Good Time (Soundtrack) CD

Earlier this year, Oneohtrix Point Never won an award for "Best Soundtrack" at the Cannes Film Festival. It was for his work on the score to Good Time, a New York-set dark thriller that's recently been getting rave reviews. Listening to this official CD release, it's easy to see why the eccentric electronica producer was handed a shiny gong. Although as experimental, electronic and challenging as his previous releases, much of the material also sounds grand and cinematic, seemingly capable of ramping up - or releasing - tension in a similar manner to legendary soundtrack composers. Like the film, the album concludes with the producer's collaboration with Iggy Pop, which sees both men at the top of their game.
