Om Unit arises on the Civil Music imprint with ominous intent if the overwhelming raw Drexciyan vibes of The Timps are any indication. Leaning heavily on the retro electro template both the title track and "Prawn Cocktail" delight with their rough simplicity, perhaps proving the mantra that less is more. Tough rhythms and infectious analogue melodies combine perfectly - though it's perhaps the overtly dramatic stabs that permeate throughout "The Timps" which prove most effective. The flipside alternative mix of the title track from the man himself replaces the stabby menace with bubbling arpeggios aplenty whilst Frite Nite alumni Salva turns "Prawn Cocktail" into a relentless urgent percussive stepper filled with futuristic flourishes and droned out bass punches.
