Since releasing the third volume in his white label 12" series back in 2013, Objekt (AKA Berlin-based Brit TJ Hertz) has become one of techno most in-demand talents. Here he returns to where it all began with volume four, in the process serving up a pair of certified late night treats. "Needle & Thread" sees him doff a cap to Paul Woolford's Special Request project, cannily combining typically Berlin-style techno elements - trippy noises, extended chords, weird effects, and so on - with punchy blasts of hardcore style breakbeats. The beats remain broken on UK Funky influenced flipside "Theme From Q", where vintage MK style melody motifs ride crunchy drums, fizzing electrofunk synth squiggles and mind-altering sub-bass.
