Review

The mysterious entity that is NYC Loft Trax returns with more 'unreleased' rarities from the heyday of the Big Apple; think The Red Zone or Nu Groove on these wicked, raw and jackin' hardware jams. The only living proof we have gathered thus far is that Dubrazil is actually the legendary Chicagoan Jordan Fields; his contribution "Sunshine In My Life" features neon lit synths guiding dusty vintage drums. Also, the sunny and emotive groove of Pascal Cordoba's "Comblnaca" (remixed by the one and only DJ Freestyle) was originally released in 2007: but this is a vinyl debut. Other than that, Bonjour's deep and sexy "Fondant" is a late night basement jam made for some serious hands in the air moments; those keys! The smooth and spiritual Afro vibe of Blackdub's "Melodies of Dub" calls to mind masters like Joe Claussell or Ron Trent.
