Budapest-based Balazs Semsei, better known as Norwell, has earned a reputation for delivering contemporary re-imaginings of the 1970s "kosmiche" sound. While this inspiration is present on Death Of A Star, the four tracks are far more heavily influenced by the obtuse, industrial-era work of Cabaret Voltaire and Throbbing Gristle. He also reps the darker end of Italo-disco on the clandestine chug of "Nordic Nights", but it's the mascara-clad, minimal wave-tinged electro of "Wasted Echoes" and the standout "Dissonant Division" that really bring home the bacon. Many will naturally turn to the spacey and swinging title track, which contrasts creepy electronics with an impressively rubbery rhythm track.
