Melbourne dance collective NO ZU first got their break via Cut Copy's Cutters label, appearing on the comprehensive Oceans Apart compilation the cult Aussie act put together last year; impressing with "Raw Vis Vision" despite some high profile names elsewhere on the tracklist. After their full debut release came via Michael Ozone's Home Loan label, NO ZU return to the Cutters fold with this excellent 12" High Gloss. More than ever, comparisons with Glasgow troupe Golden Teacher abound on the three original No Zu tracks; less in sound and more in freedom of approach. P funk basslines meet loose punk funk style percussion with NO ZU demonstrating a psychedelic feel throughout. Shout outs to Moon B for the closing deep dub of "Ui Yia Uia" that brings some darkness into the mix.
