Nico recently minted his own Akita Club label with his Six Rooms EP, and now follows it up with more gold, this time on the Midnight Shift label outta Singapore. He demonstrates once more his mastery of rhythm, which is built from layers of intricate drum hits and hyper-speed loops. 'The Driving Rain' is impossibly infectious and restless, while 'Wolfram' nails icy minimalism and afro dub like no other. Ut also comes as a dub, but not before 'Elements', a dark, loopy, transcendental bit of primal techno hypnosis. Fans of Levity Sound et al. will lap this one up.
