Dublin based New Jackson was first brought to wider attention thanks to John Talabot's Hivern Discs label, showcasing the production alias of David Kitt, who was described as a conjurer of "nocturnal house jams" with a "ghostly disco tint". Arriving exactly one year since that release, Made It Mine finds New Jackson surfacing on another esteemed institution in Munich's Permanent Vacation, and should see him rise further in the world of sunny house music. The New Jackson sound is characterised by a strong nod to the past together with bright, contemporary sound design, something shown in the poppy production and '70s soul vibes of the title track, and classic vocals present in the deeper, percussion-heavy "Jam On Summer". "Satisfaction" showcases the producer's diversity with a more downtempo vocoder jam which nods to Italo, while "Skies The Limit" ends things on a euphoric high thanks to it rippling synth arpeggio and '90s-inspired vocals.
