Although only a little over a year old, the Appian Sounds label has already featured a killer selection of artists across its four records so far, with the likes of Eduardo De La Calle and Ethyl & Flori appearing thus far. This latest various artists 12" is perhaps the label's most impressive to date, with the fluid deep house sound of Natan H's "VX407" and deep, underwater acid of Leonid's "Starling Dance" both offering some of the label's most accomplished productions to date. The flipside sees a pair of underground legends join the Appian Sounds fray, as New Jersey's Joey Anderson contributes "Dormancy", which takes things into expectedly hypnotic territory thanks to its silky rhythm and effervescent synths, while New York's DJ Spider provides "Anticipate The Wolves", an enjoyably clunky piece of techno filled with ominously swelling sonics.
