Action Speaks Louder Than Words vinyl

German label Seelen take after the ethos of punk, yet focus their efforts squarely on techno and other adjacent sounds. Here they welcome Narciss to the label for a timely lesson come parable in EP form, ‘Action Speaks Louder Than Words’, favouring the ontic position of movement before verbiage. But this well-worn phrase shouldn’t be misunderstood, since we shouldn't aim to act before thought for the sake of action itself, but rather understand how actions, even involuntary ones, betray our inner workings and desires, even those we are not consciously aware of. So too does music which enjoins us to move and relax our bodies and souls - not one and the same, but mutually entwined - also recall the chicken-or-egg scenario that is action and thought. While we wonder if it’s truly possible to relax our bodies to sustained drillings such as these - not least when also faced with the remixed electro blarings of Henning Baer or the repetitious occult techno machinations of ‘Brennpunkt’ - we can still find relief in an idea central to this release, that our bodies are always telling the truth, even when they betray our conscious wishes.
