This 12" marks a new chapter in the ongoing story of Thomas Berg's 'Versions' stable. Having previously delivered mysterious 12" singles under the Analog Versions and Soundscape Versions titles, Berg now serves up the first installment in the Mystic Versions series. All four tracks are rooted in the smoky pulse of dub techno, but also offer subtle nods to acid house, deep house and more lo-fi, industrial-tinged fare. Our pick of the bunch is the more forthright closer ("Track 4"), which abandons dub-wise hypnotism in favour of pounding kick-drums and pleasingly creepy melody lines. That said tracks two and three are also top notch, too.
