Review

Berlin retroverts Libertine are back with their seventh edition and once again seem to have unearthed some slept on classics, this time in the form of Mr Suspicious aka Steve Law. Law is an undisputed legend of Melbourne's electronic music scene, mainly known for his trance/ techno exploits as Zen Paradox (on the local Psy-Harmonics imprint) in addition to seminal releases for the seminal Belgian imprint Nova Zembla. Mr Suspicious was only responsible for a couple of EPs between 1997 - 1998 and we can only guess that these tracks are from the same period. From the deep sonar transmissions of "Chorionic Architecture" or the steely slow-burning machine funk of "Ghost Hacker" on the A side. The flip features a couple of more straight ahead cuts: the bleepy rhythm focused DJ tool "Sensorium" and the tunnelling and euphoric stroboscopy of "Hygenia". Props to the lads at Libertine for giving more exposure to this underrated legend.
