Melbourne based producer Mosam Howieson first appeared on our radar a few years back with his release on Seattle's Further Records, displaying his fine penchant for deep and hypnotic techno. He followed this up in impressive fashion with a release on fellow Pacific Northwest imprint Silent Season - thus far proving that it's quality not quantity when it comes to his productions. For his fifth EP he looks locally to homeboys Butter Sessions, who let him deliver more distinct grooves on the Napalm (Romance) EP. From the emotive energy of the title track and its soaring 303 acid lines, to the adrenalised ethereal mind trip of "Brain Scatter" that calls to mind the seminal work of Deepbass & Ness. On the flip, label head honchos Sleep D deliver a surprising EBM style remix of the latter, while Japanese master mentalist Wata Igarashi shows us all how its done on his broken yet cerebral rendition.
