Although Mono Junk's work has seen a second wave of interest in the last few years, thanks in part to reissues and new releases for labels such as Skudge, Kimmo Rapatti has been making weird and wonderful techno since the early 1990s, and it's artists such as him which show us just the sort of cutting-edge stuff that people were making over twenty years ago. Rapatti appears herein with a reissue alongside old collaborator Melody Boy 2000 on his Native Dum label. "Channel B" is Mono Junk's tune, a dubby excursion into broken drums and thick analogue programming, while Melody Boy 2000's "Monotone Fantastique" is a little more open-minded in its approach, bringing in docile swarms of bass and water-like beats. Both hot, and are bound to sound absolutely killer on a big system.
