Hot on the heels of the CD compilation that rounded up the highlights of Creative Use's vinyl only output, the label continues its ascent from a release slumber with the introduction of Mimp Gimp. Perhaps known best by Devon based disco fans, the Mimp Gimp fits in snugly alongside previous contributors to Kelvin Andrew's edits imprint, with "Calypso Alien" a delightfully off the beaten track sojourn through steel pan rhythms over a mid tempo strut that worms its way into your head with nonchalant ease. On the flip "Full Frontal Lobotomy" goes into deep industrial electro funk territory, filled with brilliantly abrasive reverberant textures which could prove quite frightening when played loud. As with previous Creative Use releases this is strictly limited and totally worth it!
