Since she last appeared on My Own Jupiter two years ago, Michelle Vagi has gone on to release quietly impressive EPs on El Milagro Records and Opia. While both were good, this return to Edurne and Nicolas Lutz's label is arguably her strongest release to date. She begins with the chiming melodies, chunky retro-futurist tech-house grooves and ragged acid lines of "Ballflower", before expertly fusing trippy lines, exotic Eastern melodies and mid-tempo techno beats on the equally ear-catching "Claroscuro". 'Russian Sis" sees her opt for a more forthright, riff-heavy take in acid-fired futurist techno, while "Orgon" is a deliciously odd-but-exciting trip into wayward acid/electro/techno fusion.
