The ever on-point Blank Slate imprint invites Michal Wolski to expand on his fleeting appearance on one of the recent various artist releases on the label with this gutsy four tracker, dealing in varied tones and moods brimming with inventive approaches to house and techno. "Who Am I" is a serious crowd-leveler, firing off chunky low end synths at a jerky tilt while keeping the drums forthright and fizzing. "Measurement" is a far more sinister affair, full of icy tones and restrained menace, and likewise "The Bells" keeps things simmering gently with some delicate melodies and a minimal beat. "Black Swan" finishes the EP off with a slower, meditative cut draped in heavy washes of reverbs and pads.
